"Revolution"
By Allison Brown

It started in 1776, with the signing of a document; the prelude ended in 1781, with the signing of another document.  It would be about ten years before the people came together to form what we know as the United States of America.  Since her founding, America has done both good and extremely wrong things- but she is still one of the greatest nations on earth when it comes to the freedom of her people.

Wondering why I am sharing this information with you?  Well, none of the things America has done would have happened if there hadn't been a Revolution.  What is a revolution?  I like the way Dr. Michael L. Brown put it in the prelude to his book, Revolution: The Call to Holy War.  He said, "This book is not a call for the violent overthrow of government, nor is it a call to take up arms, nor is it a call to political activism in and of itself.  It is a call to something far more extreme, a call to live out the gospel with all its radical claims, a call for the people of God to impact this generation with the prophetic message of repentance, a call to spark the most sweeping counterculture movement in our nation's history, a call to take back the moral ground that has been stolen from under our feet, a call to follow Jesus by life or by death.  In that sense, it is a call to start a revolution- now!"

So, how do we go about the revolution.  Well, it has to be a lifelong revolution in the life and heart of every Christian on the planet.  It has to be a lifestyle- and do you know how people will know that we are Christians.  Give up.  It's not the bracelets, it's not the T-shirts, not the TV programming, not the hats, not the outreaches.   It's our love.  Galatians 5:6 tells us, "If you are a follower of Christ Jesus, it makes no difference whether you are circumcised or not.  All that matters is your faith that makes you love others."

It's that simple.  If you have questions about what type of love that Galatians is talking about, you can look in 1 Corinthians chapter 13 or ask any member of our advice panel- they'd be happy to give you more references and explain it in depth.

Are you ready to begin the revolution?
