"Who Is God?"
By Jeremy Kaneer
Todd Agnew does a great job responding to the world's view of God. His song You Are says, "I need some substance in this relativistic world. I need some truth in the middle of all these lies."
God really isn't whoever we want him to be. So many people assume God floats around in the sky on a cloud. God didn't create the world and step aside to let it function independently. The Bible provides a very descriptive picture of God the Father and of Jesus Christ. God's character is no secret. You just have to build a picture of Christ as you seek and grow in him.
When Christians hold a good idea of God's character they can face any situation with boldness and confidence. When loneliness comes they know that God is with them. When sickness attacks they know to cry out for the Great Physician. When chaos takes over life they trust the Prince of Peace. When things seem unstable and hopeless they know the Bible says he is God your Rock, the Strong Tower who will never leave you. God is an integral part of life, not something only to think about Sunday mornings. After all, he is The King of all the Earth, not just a church building down the street.
In worship declare the true Alpha and Omega. Thank your only Blessed Hope. When the trials of this life come, picture yourself mounted on The Precious Cornerstone. The God of Your Salvation is much more than pie in the sky. He has a complex yet simple character. He has a character beyond man's comprehension, yet He is practical and breathtaking. When someone obtains a full color picture of God why wouldn't they accept him as their Lord and Savior? Go into all the world and proclaim who God is. Someone's eternity may depend on it!
